It is a journey of faith and devotion that transcends religious boundaries and speaks to the core of our humanity.

In this post, we will explore the guiding principles and practices that can deepen our spiritual connection and help us experience a profound sense of fulfillment in our quest to please God. Regardless of your level of belief or religious affiliation, we invite you to join us on this transformative exploration.

Pleasing God and Discerning His Will

All of us have been given the task of sharing the good news and the message of God, not to win the favour of others but rather to win the favour of God, who looks into our hearts. People-pleasers will never become God’s children, but those who please the Lord will enjoy His peace.

What is honourable and respectable in the Lord’s eyes? When you please the Lord and accomplish His will, you will receive anything you ask for. Make it your objective to please the Lord no matter where you are; at home or abroad. Jesus says in Mark 12:33

And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices (Mark 12:33 (KJV).

Pleasing God through Love and Obedience

How to please God? Be obedient to God Let your words and your thought be acceptable in the eyes of the Lord. Do everything you can for the Lord, because if you love God, you’ll want to please Him.

According to 2 Corinthians 7:1

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God
(2 Corinthians 7:1 (KJV).

The Lord is not pleased with the power of a warrior or the strength of a horse! The Lord is pleased with people who fear Him and place their trust in His constant love. The Bible says in Proverbs 21:3,

To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice (Proverbs 21:3 (KJV).

Those who behave like children of light and understand what is pleasing to the Lord will enjoy God’s glory. Anyone who seeks God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.

The bible says in 2 Timothy 2:15

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV).

When you put your confidence in the Lord, you’ll develop the ability to obey his commands and persevere in doing what he wants. And you’d love to live a life that makes him pleased. How to please God?

How to please God

Those who are committed to their bodies will never be able to satisfy the Lord, but those who reject the ways of the world and are changed by the regeneration of their minds will be able to discern God’s wants and to decide His will through tribulation.

The Lord delights in His own, and He offers the lowly salvation. Men’s dread is in the spring, but those who trust in the Lord are permanently safe.

You must be close to the Lord if you want to enjoy the Lord’s favour, follow all of the Lord’s instructions. When you live a life that pleases God, that is how it is. We must run from sin. Because God is a sinner’s friend, turn to Him; heaven always rejoices when a sinner repents.

In Matthew 9:13, Jesus states:

But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance (Matthew 9:13 (KJV).

Fleeing Sin and Pleasing God

How to please God: Flee from sins because the Lord detest sin so much, people who seek to please Him must turn away from sin. In order to stay in the Lord,

we must flee from all that God abhors, fear the Lord, and learn to recognise what pleases the Lord. Everything we do, whether publicly and privately, is evident to the Lord.

REMEMBER: The Lord knows everything you must learn how to live a life that pleases God because doing what is right will please your creator when you do it in the name of the Lord.

Living a disciplined life, just as God is disciplined, will enable you to please Him. Because everything the Lord forbids is done for our own benefit, when you obey him, your life will be at ease.

Try your hardest as a person to please God because those who do so are blessed by Him. When it comes to pleasing others, we often find ourselves caught in a web of differing opinions, However, the path to pleasing God is straightforward and unwavering.

Illustration Given

A man once travelled with his son, who was a boy, and they had a camel with them. After the man had secured his child to the camel, they set off on their adventure. And so they continued on their journey.

Along the road, they saw people who commented, “Look at this man; how can He put his child on the camel while he was walking?” The dad placed the youngster down and sat atop the camel as people walked by him.

Another group of individuals said, “What a nasty father! While his child is walking, he is on the camel. The man descended and they began to stroll together as those individuals passed him.

When they encountered another passing group of people on their route, they were told, “Don’t you see that both the father and son are unintelligent? While they are travelling, the camel is empty;

as they pass, the father and child board the animal. They saw a different group of people on their journey, who said, “Look at both father and son on a camel; do they want to harm the camel?”

“No matter what you do, you can’t please man,” the camel’s father muttered as he stepped off and left his child riding it as they passed.

It is preferable to please God rather than man since there is nothing you can do to please man; you must please God.

Despite the fact that man and his kid seek to satisfy humans, the humans criticised them, but when you please God, you will have a peaceful life.

Acts 5:29 states in the Bible:

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29 (KJV).

Jesus says in John 5:30

I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me (John 5:30 (KJV).

Jesus also says in John 8:29

And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him (John 8:29 (KJV).

When someone possesses the fear of God, they demonstrate a deep reverence and awe towards the Lord. This fear stems from recognizing God’s power, wisdom, and authority. When individuals genuinely fear God, their actions and attitudes align with pleasing Him.

They strive to live according to His teachings, moral principles, and commandments. This fear motivates them to seek a righteous and virtuous life, guided by their love and respect for God.

By prioritizing God’s will above their own desires, they aim to please Him and cultivate a meaningful relationship with the Lord.

Faith as the Key to Pleasing God:

How to please God? It is impossible to please the Lord without faith. Before you may please the Lord, you must have trust in Him. For instance, if a king sends you a letter saying that if you bow to him, he’s willing to share whatever he has with you,

I know you won’t hesitate to do so because of what’s at stake. But once you kneel before the king, the monarch refuses to fulfil his promise, additionally your trust in that ruler is shattered.

However, if you can have that kind of faith in God, it will never fail you. Believe in Him; if you have faith in Him, you will be able to satisfy Him. The Bible says in

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6 (KJV).

Jesus says in Mark 11:22–24,

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart,

but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
(Mark 11:22–24 (KJV).

Being close to God leads to a desire to please Him, just as we wouldn’t want to hurt someone we care about. When we establish a connection with God, pleasing Him becomes a natural and heartfelt response. Proverbs 8:17 says

I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me (Proverbs 8:17 (KJV).

The bible also says in 1 John 2:3

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments ( 1 John 2:3 (KJV).

Promises and Examples of Pleasing God:

How to please God? Those who love God are blessed. Many are intended to be for God, but when they allow Satan to dominate them, their benefits are taken away.

When you please the Lord, He will certainly be with you from the beginning to the end of your life. You will be fulfilled when you please God,

and when you are fulfilled, you will be a blessing to your generation and others. You must live a life that pleases God.God was pleased because Cyrus obediently served Him.

Look At God’s Promise To Cyrus:

The Lord says to his anointed cyrus: whom I have grasped by the strong hand, to conquer nations before him, disarming kings, and opening doors before him, so no gates will be shut:

I myself will go before you, and I will level mountains; I will shatter bronze doors; I will cut through iron bars. I will give you secret riches’ hidden treasures, and you’ll be able to identify me as the Lord, God of Israel, who addresses you by name.

I summoned you by name for the benefit of my chosen Israel and my servant Jacob. Although you didn’t know me, I bestowed an honorary title upon you. There is no other god except me; I alone am the Lord.

I strengthen you; even if you don’t know me, everyone will know, from the rise to the setting of the sun, that there is nothing apart from me; I am the Lord; there is no other. I produce light and darkness;

I provide prosperity and bring calamity; I am the Lord who accomplishes all of these things. Pour down, you heavens above, and let the clouds overflow with righteousness;

open the earth for salvation to bear fruit; and let righteousness sprout as well. I, the lord, created all of this. in Isaiah 45:1–8 (KJV).

God bestows His blessings upon those who genuinely love and obey Him, just as Cyrus did. When we seek to please God, we open ourselves up to receive His abundant blessings and favor in our lives.

Let us strive to please Him wholeheartedly and experience the overflowing blessings that come from a deep love for God.

God rewarded Abraham abundantly for his pleasing life

Abraham, who lived a life that brought great pleasure to God, was promised an extraordinary reward by the Lord.

The bible says in Genesis 15:1–6

After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness (Genesis 15:1-6 (KJV).

You are bound to please the Lord if you keep God’s instructions. Only when things proceed well do they finish well, and in order for us to end well, we must please the Lord. We will be able to enjoy an everlasting life when we please the Lord. In Luke 11:28, Jesus states:

But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it (Luke 11:28 (KJV).

Jesus also says John 14:21

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him (John 14:21(KJV).

Romans 5:19

For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous (Romans 5:19 (KJV).
