The Heart Of God

Introduction:

Deep within the hearts of many, there is an undeniable yearning for a profound and meaningful connection the heart of God. This longing stems from the recognition that there is something greater than ourselves, a divine presence that can bring purpose, fulfillment, and eternal significance to our lives.

In the Gospel of John, it is revealed that through faith and belief in Jesus Christ, we are given the extraordinary opportunity to become children of God (John 1:10–13 KJV).

This invitation to be part of God’s family opens the pathway to not only knowing Him intimately but also winning His heart. By cultivating a solid relationship and aligning our lives with His desires, we embark on a journey that leads to true fulfillment, spiritual growth, and an eternal bond with the Creator.

In this exploration, we will delve into the concept of winning God’s heart, discovering the transformative power of a sincere and devoted connection with Him.

Knowing and Practicing God’s Likes and Dislikes:

To win God’s heart, you must establish a strong connection with Him, understand what He loves and hates, and be like Him; how can you emulate Him?

You can emulate the Lord by walking in His footsteps, loving what God loves and putting it into effect, and despising what God despises and fleeing from it. The Bible says in 1 John 3:1

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not (1 John 3:1 (KJV).

The Story of Two Friends and God’s Love:

There are two friends who are avid hunters and who love themselves very much. When they go hunting, they meet each other there and wait for each other if one is finished before the other.

They always arranged to meet up at their usual spot after going hunting ,Then one day, one of them had already finished and was waiting for the other.

After a few months, the other didn’t return, he discovered that his friend may have been killed and devoured by a wild animal but he already made the decision that he would not depart without his friend so transformed into a stream.

After some while, his friend arrived and began searching for the other person. however he didn’t see his friend but noticed a stream.

Then he asked himself “Where is my friend, or has he left here?” He was immediately answered by a voice from the stream who said, “How can I leave my friend?” He began sobbing.

I’m sorry I kept you waiting, he continued, adding that he got lost when he went far into the forest.

I can’t leave you here.” Then he also transformed into a stream beside him, and all the locals knew the stream as a stream of friendliness.

If these two friends can do everything for friendship, then so can the Lord who made you and i. Did you see his affection for his friend?

It made him eagerly anticipate his friend’s arrival. You’ll undoubtedly win the Lord over if you have this type of love for Him.

Trusting, Closeness, and Obedience:

The Bible says in Proverbs 18:24

A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24 (KJV).

Jesus says in John 14:23

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him (John 14:23 (KJV).

Winning God over isn’t something you can simulate because the Lord knows us from within, not just from our looks; He knows us better than we know ourselves, and when you love Him truly, He knows;

He also knows when you’re simply dissimulating, put God first in all you do. When you are near to the Lord, He will be close to you; when you are distant from Him, He will likewise be far from you.

The Lord says in Isaiah 46:3-5:

Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb: And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like? (Isaiah 46:3-5(KJV).

Every day, God demonstrates His love for us. Jesus was even sent by God to die for us. We have no need to act in a way that the Lord detests in order for our sins to be forgiven.

The bible says in Ephesians 2:4-5

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) (Ephesians 2:4-5 (KJV).

Winning The Heart of God: Actions and Attitudes:

This is a list of what you need to do in order to win the Lord over:

  • Always put God first in all that you do.
  • Always have a heart that gives thanks, no matter the situation.
  • Fear the Lord wholeheartedly.Be a person who forgives easily.
  • Be a calm-minded person and slow to anger.
  • You should be a person who avoids sin.
  • Be friendly and kind to others.
  • Be a person who loves to share and give.
  • Don’t be an impudent person.
  • Never despise the needy, the less privileged, or the widows.
  • Don’t be a person who takes life so hard.
  • The most important thing is to be a person who overcomes his or her flesh.

It is impossible to achieve all of this and yet fail to win the heart of God.

Jesus says in Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33 (KJV).

Being Friendly and Kind as an Expression of Love:

One of the ways you may win God’s love is by being friendly and kind to others.

Let’s look at the lawyer who inquired Jesus about how to obtain eternal life:

A lawyer came to Jesus to inquire about how to get everlasting life. “What is written in the Law?” Jesus retorted.

What do you make of it? “You must love the Lord with all of your heart, all of your being, all of your strength, and all of your mind and love your neighbour as yourself,” the lawyer retorted.

Jesus informed him, “You gave the right response. You will live if you follow this. However, the lawyer questioned Jesus, “Who is my neighbour?”

Jesus retorted: “A man went from Jerusalem to Jericho, but he met thieves, and they beat him up and left him nearly dead,”.

The injured man was seen by a priest who was travelling down the same road.He walked across the street to the other side and continued on his journey.

Similarly, a Levite passed by that location. Upon seeing the man, he just crossed the street and continued on his way, but a Samaritan travelling nearby noticed the man and was touched by compassion.

The Samaritan went to the man, attended to his wounds, and brought him to an inn. The next day, he pulled out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, instructing him to take care of the man and promising to pay back any further expenses when he returned.

What do you believe? Which of these three was the neighbour of the man who came across thieves? Jesus asked, The one who showed him mercy, the lawyer replied, Jesus commanded him to “go and do likewise. The Bible says in Luke 10:25–37 (KJV).

Do you now see why it’s critical to be cordial and kind? God is attracted to those who are pleasant and kind because God likes such people.

Conclusion:

In the pursuit of winning the heart of God, we embark on a transformative journey of building a solid relationship with Him.

By aligning our lives with His desires and seeking a meaningful connection, we open ourselves to experience the depth of His love and grace.

Let us embrace the opportunity to become children of God and strive to win His heart through acts of love, obedience, and genuine devotion.

As we walk this path, we discover the boundless joy and fulfillment found in a heartfelt connection with our Creator.

I prophesy into your life:

1. The power to win God’s heart and follow God’s instructions shall overwhelm you in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
