Is The End Near? | The Urgency of Salvation in the Last Days

As the world around us continues to change rapidly, many people are asking the question: Is the end near? From natural disasters to global unrest, the signs of the times seem to point toward the fulfillment of biblical prophecy. But beyond the chaos we see in the world today, there is an even more pressing question that each of us must answer: Are you prepared to meet God?

The Bible is clear that no one knows the exact day or hour when Christ will return, but we are called to live in readiness, understanding that His return is imminent. In these last days, there is an urgency for every person to examine their hearts and decide whom they will serve. This is the time to give your life to Christ, follow Jesus, and secure your eternity before it is too late.

Is The End Near? :The Signs of the Last Days

The Bible gives us many signs that indicate the approach of the end times. In Matthew 24:6-7 (KJV), Jesus describes some of these signs, saying:

Is The End Near

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”Matthew 24:6-7 (KJV)

We see these signs happening all around us today. Wars, famines, pandemics, and natural disasters have become more frequent and severe. These events are reminders that we are living in the last days, and the return of Christ is drawing near. But the most important sign of all is the state of our hearts.

The Bible warns that in the last days, people will be lovers of themselves, materialistic, and resistant to the truth of God. 2 Timothy 3:1-2 (KJV) says:”This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy.” Are we living for ourselves, or are we living for Christ? This is the question we must answer as the end draws near.

The Urgency of Salvation

With the signs of the end all around us, there is no time to waste. Salvation is available to everyone, but it is a choice that must be made while we are still alive. Hebrews 9:27 (KJV) tells us that after death comes judgment:”And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Once we leave this earth, there is no second chance to choose Jesus.

That’s why it is so important to make the decision to follow Him today. In 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV), the Apostle Paul reminds us of the urgency of this decision:

“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)

None of us knows when our last day on earth will be, and none of us knows when Christ will return. The only way to be ready is to give your life to Jesus and live in obedience to Him.

God’s Love: The Foundation of Our Salvation

Before we can fully understand the importance of surrendering to God, we must first recognize the depth of His love for us. God’s love is the foundation of our salvation. He is not distant or indifferent; He deeply cares for each of us and longs for a personal relationship with us.

The most powerful demonstration of God’s love is found in John 3:16 (KJV), which tells us:””

Is The End Near

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.John 3:16 (KJV)

God’s love for you is immense and unconditional. He loved you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for your sins. His sacrifice was not just for a select few, but for everyone—including you.

This love is unearned, and it’s not based on your performance or your past. It’s a free gift that God offers to all who are willing to receive it.Because of this great love, God desires that no one should perish but that all should come to repentance and receive eternal life.

2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) reminds us of this truth:”The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”God’s love is patient and enduring, waiting for us to turn to Him. But we must understand that His patience won’t last forever. The day of judgment is coming, and His call to salvation is urgent.

Illustration: The Man Who Forgot God’s Love

There was a man who loved God with all his heart and feared the Lord. God saw that this man loved Him sincerely, so He blessed him with everything he needed in life—wealth, success, and peace. The man was faithful, praying and praising God every day, morning, noon, and night.

He followed God’s path, and because of his faithfulness, God pampered him, caring for him and providing abundantly for his every need. As time went on, the man began to get busy. The very blessings God gave him started to consume his time.

Sometimes, he would pray and praise God late, and other times, he wouldn’t pray or worship at all. God waited for him, longing for the praise and worship He used to receive, but the man was too occupied with the fleeting things of this world. Eventually, God stepped back. And over time, the wealth and luxuries that God had given the man began to fade away.

It was then that the man remembered how he had once worshiped and praised God with all his heart. He realized that he had strayed from the path of devotion and that the grace God had once poured over him had been withheld. With a humble heart, the man asked for forgiveness. He pleaded with God because he knew that the love and grace he once enjoyed had been lost due to his neglect of the relationship he once cherished.

This story illustrates a crucial truth: God’s love for us is infinite, and He showers us with His grace. But we often let the temporary things of this world take our time and attention away from Him. It may seem like God is far away, but He is not.He is waiting for us to return to Him, for His love never fails.

The Bible tells us in 1 John 4:8 (KJV): “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” God has wrapped us in His love, and He desires that we love Him in return. When we stray, His love remains, and He waits for us to come back to Him.

The Call to Surrender: Responding to God’s Love

Now that you understand how deeply God loves you, the question is: How will you respond?Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart, calling you to surrender to Him. Revelation 3:20 (KJV) captures this invitation:”

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with meRevelation 3:20 (KJV)

Surrendering to God means opening the door of your heart and allowing Him to take control of your life.

It’s a decision to trust Him with your entire being, letting go of your own plans, desires, and control. In return, God promises to be with you, guide you, and give you eternal life. Many resist surrendering because they fear losing control or giving up things they hold dear. However, what we fail to realize is that surrendering to God does not mean losing everything; it means gaining everything that truly matters.

Matthew 16:25 (KJV) says:”For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.“When you give your life to Jesus, you find peace, joy, and a purpose that nothing in this world can offer. God’s love for you is so great that He doesn’t just want to save you from sin; He wants to walk with you through every aspect of your life, bringing you fulfillment and eternal joy.

God’s Love is Waiting—Surrender Today

God’s love for you is unfailing, and He is waiting for you with open arms. He loves you so much that He gave His only Son to die for your sins, so that you could be saved. There is no greater love than the love God has for you. Romans 5:8 (KJV) says:

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8 (KJV)

This act of sacrificial love proves that God is not just interested in your temporary happiness—He is deeply invested in your eternal salvation. His love is relentless, and His desire is for you to be saved and to live a life filled with His blessings and grace.

The Beauty of Surrendering to God’s Love

Surrendering to God’s love is not a burden; it’s an invitation to experience life in its fullest and richest form. God has already given the ultimate proof of His love by sending Jesus to die for your sins.

Romans 5:8 (KJV) says:”But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”Don’t wait for a better time—today is the day of salvation! God is calling you now, and His arms are open wide, ready to embrace you in His infinite love. Will you surrender to Him today?
